New Joomla Beta 1.5 Test Site

I have recently built a new Joomla Beta 1.5 Test Site (click on the link to visit the site) with the latest “Nightly Build” dated November 16, 2006. The first 3rd party component I tested was the Community Builder. Though running on legacy mode, the extension works just fine. You can test it by registering on the site, though I’m refreshing the database weekly, so expect your profile to disappear in the site after a week or so, unless you tell me no to.

I will be updating the test site regularly, so feel free to bookmark it and visit as frequently as possible.

Joomla 1.5 Beta 2?

I recently visited the home of Joomla! where I’m a member of its forum. They already closed the Beta 1.5 threads and thanked everybody for their participation in discussions on bugs and other issues related to the Beta release.

This they did for the coming of  the Beta 2. Though no specific  date  is announced yet,  I for  one is  anticipating the release  of the next beta. Hopefully though, the developers of 3rd party software such as components, modules, plug-ins, and even templates  could keep up with the pace. I’m still waiting for the release of the Community Builder that is compatible with Joomla! 1.5 release.

Joomla Beta 1.5 Nightly Builds

I recently downloaded a nightly build of Joomla Beta 1.5 (dated11/27/2006) and installed on my local computer running on a pre-complied Apache, MySQL, and PHP environment. So far, there’s alot of improvements on it’s lay-out especially on the administrator’s control panel.

I haven’t tried to install the components and modules that I have tried before since I’m quite busy for the time being. But I will be doing so as soon as I have enough time to see the real improvements of Joomla Beta 1.5 after a month and a half since its release.

I’m looking forward to seeing the compatibility issues gone, even just a few if not the majority of those bugs. I’ll post my findings here, so stay tuned…
