I recently downloaded a nightly build of Joomla Beta 1.5 (dated11/27/2006) and installed on my local computer running on a pre-complied Apache, MySQL, and PHP environment. So far, there’s alot of improvements on it’s lay-out especially on the administrator’s control panel.
I haven’t tried to install the components and modules that I have tried before since I’m quite busy for the time being. But I will be doing so as soon as I have enough time to see the real improvements of Joomla Beta 1.5 after a month and a half since its release.
I’m looking forward to seeing the compatibility issues gone, even just a few if not the majority of those bugs. I’ll post my findings here, so stay tuned…

After a month of beta testing by a lot of users, a graduate student at the Florida State College University of Information will be doing a usability study on Joomla 1.5 which will define the usability of the sytem to the users as a whole. Testing will be done in four (4) website categories which will be On-line Community, Media Portal, Blog, and eCommerce.
I personally am looking forward to the results of this study and will be posting updates on this matter here. So stay tuned…

Joomlapolis recently announced the release of the Community Builder 1.0.2 which will be compatible with Joomla 1.5. As mentioned in my previous post, the current version of CB which is 1.0.1 is not compatible with the newest (beta) release of Joomla!.
It’s good to know that 3rd party components/modules/plug-in developers are gearing toward correcting the backward compatibility issues of their software with Joomla 1.5. But until the release of the said updates, we can’t do anything but wait…
